Green rodent control?

Postby simondebbi » Sat Feb 13, 2010 8:59 am

Any advice on dealing with rats without harming the environment and other animals? There was evidence of very hungry rats over the winter as there are three rat holes and lots of droppings in the shed. Possibly my fault for not putting wild bird seed in a metal tin.

As poison is not allowed, some people are using humane traps and then quickly despatching any rats caught.

The best thing is to make sure that your shed has no holes in the floor or walls and then try not to keep seeds or food stuff in there - if you have to then keep them in sealed tins.
